How To Promote Your Band
You did it! You found a few other humans to make beautiful music with AND you’ve got a gig. Whether it’s in your mom’s basement or an actual venue, it’s time to get ready and get people there. Here’s how:
- SPREAD THE WORD: socials are important, sure, but nothing beats real life. Post your show posters throughout the city, in shared public spaces like libraries and art centers, and in local businesses like coffee shops and other places you go. It never hurts to ask if you can post a flier — carry them with you and ask wherever you go.
You can design your own fliers by hand, level up and hire one of our designers to do it for you, or find something that works for you online. Any way you choose works, just make sure to add all the details and make them eyeball-worthy.
NEED POSTERS? Order those here before Labor Day or here forever.
NEED POSTCARDS? (these are great for leaving on counters!)? Get ’em here before Labor Day or here forever.
- GET YOUR MUSIC READY: Record it at home, get your friend with some mics in his basement to hook you up, or book a studio — whatever level you choose, we just know it’s going to be great.
MAKING A TAPE? Order j-cards here before Labor Day or here forever.
PRESSING VINYL? We can print the inserts.
- DOWNLOAD CODES AND QR CODES: If you don’t want to produce a physical album, or don’t have the time, no problem. Print a small card to hand out at your shows with your band name, URL if you have one, and social handles. Business cards are the perfect size for this.
NEED TO GET THOSE? Order business cards here.
Also, if you’re reading this before Labor Day, don’t forget our Summer of Specials is still going. You can save a bunch with Artist Bundles and our specials — so don’t wait. And good luck at the show!

Our Ice Cream Guide
It’s National Ice Cream Month and we are lucky enough to live in a city with so much great ice cream that sometimes it’s hard to choose which delicious ice cream we want.
To make it easier for you, we assembled a list of all our favorites.
Check it out and get your scoops in.
Want to take a road trip? Check out Morgensterns in NYC, too!
PS. Printing is a feeling. RIP Little Babies.
Check Out Fruiting Bodies
The Brooklyn Seed Lab is so cool. They are a speculative, conceptual community seed library, food farm, and biodesign space that curates amazing natural collections each season.
Their annual catalog, Fruiting Bodies, captures a range of possibilities to bring sustainable fruit to your own urban farm. It’s gorgeous and useful and we were so excited to print these.

Meet Paul.
Paul is a lot of things: the co-owner of Fireball; a fierce advocate for East Kensington and the surrounding community; the mastermind behind WEIRDO; and a cool dad (Happy Father’s Day!). He’s also an artist with an incredible ability to bring his dreams — no matter how wild, weird, or wondrous — into reality.
Even before his days of printing show flyers in the dining room of his apartment on Front Street (if you saw a flyer for the Barbary circa 2008, that’s likely where it came from), Paul was committed to making art accessible and inspiring for as many humans as possible.
Breaking down the barriers of typical art shows, Paul created BIG ART SHOW, a traveling collective of creators and performers who travelled to cities across the US, making space for artists of any skill, medium, and age to share their work, come together, and amplify their voices.
Since then, Paul has found ways to continue that work, with a greater focus on East Kensington and the surrounding neighborhoods. WEIRDO brings together thousands of people each year and is a love letter to the community that Paul, his family, and their business call home.
If you see him at Fireball, or anywhere, really, stop and say hi. Possible sure-fire conversation starters include: David Byrne, Twin Peaks, Gumby, pizza, city gardening, and ice cream.
