Why the delays?
We have had a lot of bad luck the last few weeks! We pride ourselves on our speed and quality and we usually get things done a lot faster and with a lot more options. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on and why your project could be affected.
- Equipment failure and repair issues.
- This is a two part problem where recently we’ve just had some serious equipment failures and the damage has been magnified by the current state of workforce shortages. Basically stuff that never breaks in our main press has broken and even that wouldn’t be so, so bad, but there is also a repair technician shortage, so getting even basic repairs is taking about twice as long. This tech shortage problem is happening with all of our equipment. Bindery, finishing and printing. We’ve had just an extraordinary amount of equipment failures happen one after another. The press breaking the way it has, unfortunately, has forced us to delay everything.
- There is a world wide paper shortage.
- Some of our core stocks are simply not available from any source. We are working closely with suppliers and stocking up as much as we can to minimize this issue, but some types of paper will be hard to get for at least the next few months. We are offering some new stocks that are as close as we can get for now. We can help you navigate new stocks, just ask.
For the next few days we are going to push our digital product turnaround times back by 5 business days across the board. We’re hoping our press issues are solved in the next day or two and we can start getting back to normal with everything but the paper shortage issues.
