Partners & Son
Partners & Son is a comic shop and art gallery with a huge collection of independent comics and zines, and a special section focused on local Philly creators. They are also the founders of the Philly Comics Expo, a free comic festival that takes place every year.

South Street Art Mart is an artist-run retail shop that’s home to over 200 Philly-area artists and makers. All products available in store and online are created by indie artists! That includes a big ol' selection of books + zines as low as 2 bucks!
The Philly Soapbox is a non-profit studio dedicated to zine making offering workshops and exhibitions. They regularly host free readings and have a FREE ZINE LIBRARY with over 3500 indie publications available to check out.
50 Watts is a bookstore with a focus on visually-striking and unusual books from around the world (including a nice selection of zines). Expect to find lots of publications from Japan and Europe! 50 Watts also publishes their own original books and comics!
In addition to offering printing services, Fireball Printing has a limited selection of indie comics in our online store (PLUS more in person)! This includes REPTILE HOUSE #10, a collection from Reptile House Comix, an underground comix small press based here in Philly.

Philly Comix Club at the Free Library
The Philly Comix Club meets every month (typically every third Thursday) at the Philly Library to work on projects, talk shop, or just browse the Philadelphia Comics collection. They also host one off events like zine swaps! This month features a special Animation Workshop from artist Lindsay Kovnat.
Exclamation Point! A Monthly Comic Reading Upstairs at Abyssinia
Every month at Exclamation Point! a fresh line up of indie comic creators present and perform their comics live in front of an audience. The show is hosted by Marta Syrup and features a rotating line up of comic artists and special musical guests.

Philly Comix Jam at Glory Bar & Kitchen
The last Tuesday of every month, this loose collective of comic makers meet up to “jam comix and kibitz.” The jammed out comics are posted online for the world to see.
This yearly festival has been celebrating DIY & small press publishing since 2002. Last year’s event took place at Temple University and had over 100 artists sharing and selling zines. Presented and organized by Philly Soapbox.
